I love these fun sparkler for the Fourth of July from Martha Stewart. My kids love to play with sparklers, so having an edible sparkler is a perfect treat for the 4th. Martha suggests melting 4 oz of chopped chocolate in a bowl (heatproof!) over a pan of simmering water. I find that just melting the chocoate (white, dark or milk) in the microwave at thirty second intervals and stirring works just as well, and is much easier. You can then dip the pretzel rods into the chocolate or brush it on with a pastry brush. Then comes the fun part — adding the patriotic sprinkles! Once you are finished you can just put them upright in a glass and put in the frig til firm. They would be a yummy snack, plus a pretty decoration on the table!
