This book on drawing cute animals is very accessible, easy to follow, and engaging for even young children. And yet the foundation of the drawing system is entirely legit. They offer a simple geometric based system for drawing many different kinds of (cute) animals. One page walks you through how to draw a specific animal, with lots of variations also shown; the other side is for you to draw several versions on your own.
It all works out pretty well, and the printing and binding is really nice. Moreover, the book clearly helps bridge the gap from knowing the system, and realizing which shapes would work where, which is key to using this sort of approach. Most books seem to expect you to just “know,” yet it can be entirely unclear, especially to beginners. My kids are having a great time trying out drawing different animals and adding their own little cute touches, too!
